Beautiful cyanotype printed cotton flour sack tea towel, made by myself, Rachele Bowden. I used florals recycled / salvaged from weddings and events I’ve worked as a caterer. These flowers would have ended up in the trash, but they got a second life through this craft. I also try to use second hand or upcycled clothing, linens, and other materials as much as possible.
This is not an upcycled piece, it is a purchased white flour sack style, 100% cotton, tea towel.
This piece uses pressed delphiniums, lisianthis, solidago, and limonium flowers.
NOTE: Cyanotype is a natural dying process and can colors can bleed or stain, and fade over time. To prevent fading, do NOT expose pieces to a lot of direct sunlight for long periods of time, and follow the care instructions included the care sheet. They have been washed once after dying.
